ZMS faced their sister school, Z’West in the classic Battle of the Nest! The game was exciting, high- energy and high- thrilling for both schools!

Zionsville's A team continued their strong season with a solid overall win against ZWest last night, winning 55-24. ZMS came out strong, getting to the basket for easy layups to go up 14-5 after one quarter. The pressure defense kept up the intensity in the second quarter, pushing the lead out to 25-10 at halftime. More forced turnovers in the second half allowed ZMS to eventually pull away for the win. Johnathan MacAbee (9pts) and Colin Price (9pts and 5 Rebs) led your ZMS Eagles to victory over Avon South! The Eagles never got behind in the game! After one half, Eagles led 21- 17. In the second half, Avon South to charge back at your Eagles, but it was Carter St. John, Evan Jensen Trey Firestone, Reid Wesley and Brendan Wood who denied any attempts. Zionsville had one of its best games of the year last night, beating Avon South, 54-37. The Eagles offense was consistent, scoring at least 12 points in each quarter and so was the defense, never allowing more than 12 in a quarter. The Eagles dominated inside the paint, grabbing offensive rebounds, finishing at the rim, and attacking the basket. The ZWEST 7th grade team hosted Avon North last night in a game that would go to the end but find the Eagles down 34 to 39 in the end. Turnovers plagued the Eagles all night having 20 for the game. West closed the game to 1 after being down 10 to start the 4th but could not get a bucket to close out. Aiden Helvie and Seth Hogg led the team with 10 each. Ian Seward added 8 points on the night. Colin Price (13 pts) and Jonathan MacAbee (15 pts) led your Eagles to victory over Lynhurst. At the end of one quarter, Eagles led 16- 6. In the second quarter, your Eagles continued leading the way. Zionsville pulled off another win last night at Lynhurst, 45-19. The Eagles hit 5 three's in the first quarter to take a 15-8 lead early. Pressure on defense then limited Lynhurst to only 4 points in the second quarter as the Eagles led 24-12 at halftime. Adam Melliere hit 5 total three's on his way to 19 points. ZMS 7th Grade hard fought loss to Lebanon in the Boone County Tournament 11/9/17
In the first game of the tournament, Zionsville lost a heartbreaker, again in overtime, to Lebanon. It was a back and forth game but the Eagles were unable to hang on and make it to the championship game, falling 53-55. Adam Melliere led the Eagles in scoring with a gritty 14 points. ZMS v Lebanon game was back and forth, but brutal fight. ZMS started out attacking the basket early. After one quarter, your Eagles controlled the game 10- 8. In the first round of the Boone County Tournament ZWEST faced Western Boone. For the second time in just 3 days the Eagles would defeat the Stars 64 to 37 to advance to the Championship game. West faced a lot of foul trouble in the first half but continued to lock down on defense. In the first round of the Boone County Tournament, Z West played WEBO again. WEBO hung tough throughout the first half, with Z West actually going into halftime down by one point. West had a huge third quarter, outscoring WEBO 16-3 in the quarter including a big 3 pointer to end the quarter by Elliott Rossell. In the end, West hung on to win by a final score of 44-37. The ZWEST 7th grade team went on the road for the second time this week and picked up another road win over WEBO 65 to 41. A combination of great defense and the ability of West to get to the basket allowed the Eagles to get out to an early lead. A Game: ZWMS vs. WEBO West came into the game ready to work hard for 4 quarters. The team started out well and was up 18-8 after the 1st quarter. They let WEBO hang around through the 2nd and went into halftime up by just 9. The third quarter was all Eagles as the team got a 15 point lead heading into the 4th quarter, and went up by as many as 21 early in the 4th before B guys started to get some playing time. A Game ZMS was looking for their first win on the road. In the first quarter, Eagles took advantage of Carmel’s turnovers. Evan Jensen (9 pts in the 1st) led all scorers in the 1st half.
