The Zionsville Eagles Freshmen Basketball Team rallied a comeback that came up just short on Tuesday night against Carmel High School. Starting down 27-9 in the second quarter, the Eagles outscored the Greyhounds 23-15 the rest of the way. The Zionsville Eagles Freshmen Basketball Team lost a close contest Monday night 31-26 against the Lafayette Harrison Raiders. The game was played at Lafayette Harrison and was back-and-forth the entire way as the score was 8-8 at halftime and was also tied 25-25 with one minute to go. After a cold ride to McCutcheon in a bus with no heat, the Freshman Boys basketball found themselves down last night to McCutcheon mid-way through the first quarter. The Eagles team defense proved to be too much for the Millers holding them to just 8 first half points. The Millers could never recover as the Eagles would go on to win 39-22. ZCHS Freshman Coaches, players and fans alike exhaled a sigh of relief when Alec McCarty finally sealed the game with seconds remaining by knocking down a couple of free throws in overtime with Guerin Thursday night. The Zionsville Freshman team has their season opener tonight against non-conference opponent Lafayette Harrison Raiders. The Eagles take to the court with an eleven-man roster. Six starters from the 2016-2017 ZMS and Z’West teams account for over half of the team. The freshman roster consist of ZMS starters Zach Whitham and Kyle Reasoner.
