A Game: ZWMS vs. Lebanon
The Eagles went into Thursday night’s game ready to play hard, and the team really set the tone on the defensive end against Lebanon. Through the first 3 quarters, Lebanon had only 17 points because of stellar team defense by Z West. The Eagles played hard and together for the entire game, and were up by 7 points going into the 4th quarter. However, Lebanon stepped up their defense and started creating turnovers, which led to some easy fast break points. The game came down to the very end, but the Eagles ended up losing a heartbreaker by the final score of 32-34. Isaiah Davis led the team with six “hustle stats”, including 4 blocked shots, and Peyton Guider was next on the team with three “hustle stats”.
B Game: ZWMS vs. Lebanon
The Eagles struggled with the turnover bug in the first half leading to a 25-10 deficit. In the second half the Eagles came out of the gate hard and forced an early timeout by Lebanon. Following the timeout, the Eagles did not take its’ foot off the gas pedal scoring 13 points in each of the final 2 quarters. 5 of the B squads’ 7 three point baskets were in the second half. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time on the clock to complete the strong second half effort with the final score 44-36 in favor of Lebanon. Carter Lile and Elliott Rossell led the way with 11 points each, including some good shooting from the outside. Nathan Clay chipped in with 7 points and a number of rebounds and deflections down low.
Z West has two games next week before Thanksgiving Break, with the first one coming on Monday, November 20th @ Westfield at 5:30 pm. Go Eagles!
