Kyle Reasoner (18 points, 4 steals, 3 rebounds), Zach Whittham (18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists), and Cole Maxwell (15 points including 6 of 7 from the FT line, 7 rebounds) led the Freshman boys basketball team to a victory over conference rivals Brownsburg 63-47. Alec McCarty led the team in rebounding with 8 rebounds, adding 5 points and 3 assists. Connor Jones was 4 of 4 from the FT line contributing 7 points and led the team in the assist category with 5 assists. Off the bench with support in the victory was Owen Prickett (2 rebounds, 2 assists) and Carson Wagoner (1 rebound, 1 assist).
With the exception of a few ties early in the first quarter, the Eagles led the game from start to finish. The Eagles out rebounded their opponents on the offensive end allowing themselves second or even third opportunities at the bucket. It was the Eagles defense getting some key consecutive defensive stops down the stretch and forcing the Bulldogs to use precious time just to get a look at the bucket. Free throw shooting for the Eagles to close out the game was superb. The Eagles close out the night shooting 83% from the FT line.
The Freshman boys basketball team will be back in action at home against the Guerin Golden Eagles on Thursday December 7, 2017.
