Z'West 8th Grade vs. Fall Creek Game Recap (11.28.2017)
A Game: ZWMS vs. Fall Creek
The Eagles came into the game against Fall Creek ready to work hard. West set the tone early, going up 14-9 at halftime. The second half was a hard fought, back and forth game that ended up being tied after 4 quarters. Overtime was needed to decide this game. In overtime, the Eagles stepped up big time, scoring 8 points while holding Fall Creek to just 2 points. Z West ended up winning the game by a final score of 33-27. The team was led by Isaiah Davis, who had a monster game with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. Billy Smith scored 5 points and had 4 blocks. Will Keller had 4 points, Preston Gadd had a bucket along with 4 assists, with Owen Rossell and Peyton Guider each scoring a basket while providing stellar defense and hustle all game long. Great win for West!!
B Game: ZWMS vs. Fall Creek
The Eagles B squad put together their strongest performance of the season and short-handed to boot! With only 6 players the Eagles had to have contributions from each player and that’s exactly what happened! A strong first and second quarter led to a 22-17 lead at halftime. Fall Creek was determined not to go away and they outscored the Eagles 12-6 in the final quarter to send the game into overtime. After trailing early in the overtime period, the Eagles dialed up the long distance shot via the shooting of Julian Molife and Elliott Rossell to win the game in exciting fashion. Julian Molife led the team with 5 steals and 4 assists to go along with 7 points. Elliott Rossell poured in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Meanwhile, the Eagles also got strong contributions from Max Miles, Carter Lile, Evan Poland, and Jackson Berendes. Eagles win in OT 51-47.
Z West plays again at home on Thursday, November 30 against Clay. Go Eagles!
