Zionsville's A team played hard last night in a tough defeat, falling 53-50 in overtime to a solid Hamilton Southeastern team. It was back and forth the whole game with neither team pulling ahead until the end of the game. Zionsville hit big shot after big shot, but HSE answered back to take the game into OT. Zionsville got down early in the overtime and staged a comeback, but fell just inches short to end the game. The Eagles were well-rounded in their scoring led by Logan Imes with 13 points and Adam Melliere with 11. Merrick Macaluso and Michael Narva each played extremely well and ended with 7. Nick Richart and Nate Horten both finished with 6 points.
The B team avenged the A loss with a win, by a final of 22-9. Zionsville's stingy defense shut out HSE in the first quarter and held them in single digits for the entire game. On offense, the Eagles moved the ball extremely well and it led to a lot of open Eagle shots. Michael Krkoska led all scorers with 9 hard-earned points. AJ Jacklin had 6 points, Kade Langhorst hit a big three pointer, and Matthew Wleklinski had two baskets in the win. The B team now moves to 4-0 on the year.
Both A and B will play at home against Creekside on Monday.
