Freshman grind out a win in OT with Guerin - 12/7/17

December 8, 2017

ZCHS Freshman Coaches, players and fans alike exhaled a sigh of relief when Alec McCarty finally sealed the game with seconds remaining by knocking down a couple of free throws in overtime with Guerin Thursday night. The Freshman Eagles looked sluggish all evening giving up a lot of points in the second and third quarters allowing Guerin to take a lead over the Eagles in the 4th quarter. The Eagles managed to fire back with two straight three-pointers from Zach Whitham and one from Cole Maxwell in the 4th quarter to send the game into overtime. The Eagles held Guerin scoreless in overtime to grind out a victory over Guerin 36-32. The eagles were led in scoring by Zach Whitham and Kyle Reasoner with 11 points each. Cole Maxwell contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds while Alec McCarty added 5 points.

The Freshman Eagles are back in action Saturday at ZMS as they host a tournament to include Lawrence North, North Central, and Carmel. Tournament Tip-off is 10am.
