Zionsville's A team continued their strong season with a solid overall win against ZWest last night, winning 55-24. ZMS came out strong, getting to the basket for easy layups to go up 14-5 after one quarter. The pressure defense kept up the intensity in the second quarter, pushing the lead out to 25-10 at halftime. More forced turnovers in the second half allowed ZMS to eventually pull away for the win. Merrick Macaluso had a season-high 16 points on 8 of 10 shooting for an excellent game. Logan Imes and Adam Melliere also had great games, scoring 12 points each against a good defense. Nick Richart got the ZMS offense going early, scoring 6 points in the win. Nate Horten, Matthew Wlwklinski and Michael Narva all had 3 points each in a great team effort.

But ZWest crept back into the game, bringing the score to 13-12 at halftime. However, the ZMS defense went to work in the second half, allowing only 3 points in the third quarter and one point in the fourth, to win the second half 28-4.
