Zionsville played Brownsburg West in the first round of the NSC Tournament last night, winning 70-38.  It was an offensive first half for both teams, with the Eagles leading at halftime, 36-23.  But Zionsville picked it up defensively in the fourth quarter, holding Brownsburg to only two field goals and winning the quarter by 15 points.  The Eagles had 3 players in double figures, led by Adam Melliere's 6 three-pointers and 20 total points.  Merrick Macaluso was outstanding, especially at the line, hitting 11 free throws to finish with a season-high 19 points.  Nick Richart scored in every quarter to finish with 10 points.  Logan Imes had 9 points and several John Stockton-like assists.  Nate Horten had 7 points, Matthew Wleklinski had a free throw, and Evan Huber and Michael Narva each ended with a basket.

The Eagles play Avon North at 9am on Saturday for a spot in the Championship later that morning.
