Z'West 7th Grade advances to 4-0 with a road win over Carmel MS 57-37

ZWEST went on the road to Carmel for their first away game of the season and walked away with two wins on the night.  In the A game a quick start once again pushed the Eagles out to an early lead that they would not give up.  Maguire Mitchell and Jackson Tielker led the first half with a combined 25 points.  In the second half the Eagels kept it going and outscored Carmel in both of the final two quarters taking home the win 57-37.  Maguire Mitchell finished with 22 followed closely by Tielker with 18.  Max Phenicie continues to be a force on the boards and also finished with 6 points.  Rounding out the scoring was Hilton with 5, Maddox Mitchell with 4 and Smith with 2.


In the second game of the night the ZWEST B team got off to slow start and found themselves down 4 at the half. The second half started out slow for both teams as both Carmel and West only put up two points each.  In the 4th quarter carmel stretched the lead out early to 10 points.  The Eagles locked down of defense and conitnued to find Riley Agbonhese inside and quickly closed the gap.  Riley would go on to hit a game tying layup to send it to OT.  In overtime West was able to get to the line three times going 5-6 with big ones from Sullivan and Stark to close it out.  ZWEST went on to win the game 34-30.  Agbonhese came up big in the game and led all scorers with 22 points.  Stark, Schaaf and Sullivan each had 3.  Brady Peterson led the team on the defensive end and also knocked in 1-2 from the line.  


The ZW Eagles are back at home against Lebanon on Thursday night.
