After a 1-1 showing on Saturday, West hit the road to Carmel Middle School. Game 1 started out slow and West had a tough time finding any rhythm on either ends of the floor. With Carmel’s bolstering attitude, West had a difficult time getting momentum from anyone on the floor. Going into the fourth quarter West got some momentum and played hard but it was too late as Carmel had not lost the lead the whole game and finished the game out 48-37. The Eagles scoring is as follows, Tyler Neal 12 points, Jameson Laughlin 8 points, Case Anderson 6 points, Deacon Powell 5 points, and Jackson Carr and Simon Wilkinson with 3 points. The Eagles look to learn from this and bounce back on Thursday as they take on Lebanon at home.
Game 2 had a similar start where energy was low and West fell early to the Cougars. The bolstering attitude of the Cougars was set in and West found themselves in a similar situation being down early and having to make up some lost points. Although minds and hearts were in it, the Eagles fell short quickly and although West outscored the Cougars in the third quarter, it was not enough to take over the lead falling to Carmel Middle 23-44. The Eagles scoring was led by Jake Cero with 11 points, followed by Lincoln Belser with 6 points, and Noah Almeida, Jakob Collier, and Chris Cortopassi all with 2 points. The Eagles will learn from this and come out strong against Lebanon this Thursday at home.
