A dominating second-half for the Freshman Eagles launches a season-opener victory over the Raiders 4

The Zionsville Eagles Freshmen Basketball team worked hard to overcome a close first half to beat the Lafayette Harrison Raiders 49-22 on Monday night.
After a seesaw first half which saw the Eagles holding onto a two-point lead at 19-17, they poured it on to pull away quickly in the third quarter to a 36-17 lead with 17 unanswered points. The Eagles implemented a defensive change at halftime that led to ten fast break points in the quarter.
Lucas Louiso and Matthew Wlekinski led the balanced offensive attack with 11 points each. Nate Horten contributed ten points.
Next game is Tuesday night, 11/26, again at home, versus the Carmel Greyhounds. The game begins at 6:00pm in the Eagle Fieldhouse.
